Shoot Em Down Organization + Idea

I’ve been working on organizing the Shoot Em Down code more, trying to optimize the game. The update is getting closer and closer to completion, and once it gets done, it will be worth the wait ^^ Also, I have an idea for a game involving roflcopters, and if I ever make it, I think that it it’ll be free. All the graphics in the roflcopter game will be text, so I’ll see how that turns out. Also, I might add the ability to customize your copter, and email it to friends. ^^

Coin Collect 2 Plans

So right now, I’m working on Coin Collect 2. The new features that Coin Collect 2 will have will be added levels. You will have a time limit to get a certain number of coins in, to advance to the next level. There will also be 2 added powerups, the shield and the magnet. If you collect the shield, you will be able to movie around the screen invincible, and unable to be killed by the red dots. The magnet powerup pulls coins that are within a certain radius of you closer to you. The first version that I’m working on will be Coin Collect 2 for the iPhone. Then after I submit that, when it is in the approval process which takes 1-2 weeks, I will work on Coin Collect 2 for flash. The free flash version of Coin Collect 2 will be used to market the iPhone version. Hopefully that will go well, haha ^^

Physics Engine

As you should know, I wrote a physics engine for the iPhone for Shoot Em Down. (If you still haven’t bought it, buy it now! haha) Anyways, I’m going to try to port it to Actionscript 3, so I can use it in my flash games. The flash game is going to be physics based, and have lots of blood and violence, just like in Shoot Em Down for the iPhone. ^^ The only thing that I’m worried about is if flash can handle all the calculations that the physics engine needs without lagging >.<

My ToDo List

Hi everyone, here’s a sneak peek of my to do list ^^

1)Finish Coin Collect 2

2)Finish the Shoot Em Down update (sorry this has been taking so long)

3)Work more on my red button game prototype

Please keep in mind that none of this is final and may change later on as I think of new game ideas. ^^

Prototype Basic Enemy

Here’s a sketch of the basic enemy that I will have in my target practice physics game. Still haven’t thought of a good name for it yet. Anyway, the thing on top of the vehicle is the red button that you have to hit to destroy it. ^^

Yet Another Prototype

Here’s a little update on the old target practice physics game that I made a while ago. I’ve been getting some good feedback from a few people on it, so I might take it more seriously and turn it from a prototype into an actual game, haha. Anyways, here’s a little screenshot of the updated colors. Still thinking up a basic enemy design =/

Working On Coin Collect Updates

After I submitted Coin Collect to newgrounds, I got loads of great feedback! One of the suggestions was that I slow down the enemy spawn rate to sort of ‘ease’ into the game a bit. Once I tried it out, I was pleased with the effects. The next thing I will work on is fixing the problem that sometimes an enemy will spawn right on top of you and instant kill you. I may fix this by not letting any enemies spawn too close to the player, or have them spawn off stage and glide in. Another thing that is planned for updates is that there will be a few powerups, like a shield or a magnet that lets you collect coins faster. ^^

Coin Collect Newgrounds

I submitted Coin Collect to Newgrounds! Hopefully the people over there will like it…Anyways, here’s the link. ^^

Coin Collect Updates

I have updated Coin Collect to version 1.0.2 ^^ The changes are that I have removed the sound that it makes when the enemies collide, because a few people have been complaining about that. In the meantime, I am still awaiting approval from MochiAds, so I can start making money from the ads on my game >.<

Seems like it's taking forever!

New Sections Added

If you haven’t already noticed, I added a section for my flash game. You can get to it by clicking ‘Flash’ on the upper right. I also renamed Games to iPhone. As for Coin Collect, I have only submitted it to Kongregate, to see how it does and get some feedback. If it does well there, I may submit it to newgrounds and other portals. ^^
